Getting Started with R and RStudio Online
This session is bookable please by only postgraduate researchers (PGRs) undertaking a PhD or research staff from the Coventry University Group. Students on taught programmes of study (undergraduate or postgraduate) can obtain one to one help from sigma (please see http://sigma.coventry.ac.uk )
R is a free software-programming environment for statistical analysis, computing and graphics. It is rising in popularity because of its flexibility and the fact that it is freely available. It is code driven (as opposed to being menu driven such as with SPSS). RStudio is a user interface which makes using R much easier. This session will include how to access RStudio and will describe how to get started with using R within the RStudio environment. Examples will cover entering data and reading in existing data sets, as well as managing and manipulating your data. Examples will also include producing descriptive statistics and creating tables and graphs.
All sessions will be held online using Microsoft Teams the link will be provided in the registration email.
